Ceramic artist Seok-binn Kim, based on various experiences, started by introducing the cobalt shower line and blue line series in 2009.
He is making various porcelain canvases where you can enjoy plating itself, not just tableware.

Kim seok binn products are all hand made to order. All items are not eligible for exchanges, returns or refunds after delivery. Defects should be claimed within 3 days after you receive your order. 

Important Note :

Kim seok binn products are all hand-made. Please note that the following phenomena can occur during its pottery process. It is not available for exchange or refund due to these reasons.

  • Naturally occurred variation in size, shape, flatness and glaze color is what gives handmade ceramics its charm. 

  • Fine bumps or air holes in hand-made process.

  • Small bubbles can be created on the glaze from kiln process

  • Black spots can be caused by glaze raw materials (with iron) 

  • A flow trace or a lump of glaze can be created on the surface of porcelain during hand crafting.

  • It is recommended to use ceramic, wooden or silicone cutlery on matte ceramics. Its scratches may not be removed by regular cleaning.

"좋은식기를 만들기 위해서 온도를 높게 땝니다. 보통 백자는 1250도에서 많이들 때는데, 저는 1300도를 고집해요. 강도와 흡수율의 차이가 생기죠.  더 가벼우면서도 단단해져서 오래 사용하기 좋아요. 납은 전혀 없어요. 납이 들어가면 낮은 온도에서도 발색력이 좋아서 원가 절감을 위해 넣거든요. 50도 올리면 전체 원가가 25% 올라가기 때문에 쉬운 선택은 아니지만 저는 이게 옳다고 믿어요."

작가노트-김석빈

백자는 정갈하고 딱 떨어지는 맛이 있어야 한다고들 하지만,
나는 완벽함 보다는 수줍음이 밴 미숙함과 삐뚤어진 것이 좋다.
자유롭고, 편안하고, 질박함이 묻어나는 것에 매력을 느낀다.

그래서 백토를 가지고 오히려 ‘분청스러운’ 작업을 한다.
‘툭툭’ 깎아 내고, ‘툴툴’ 털어 내고, ‘탁탁’ 불면서.

많은 분들이 내 그릇을 ‘그림 같은 그릇’이라고 말한다.
나는 그림을 그리기 위한 그림을 그린다.
그리고 나의 그림을 마주한 이에게 자기만의 또 다른 그림을 완성할 수 있는 영감을 주길 기대한다.
나의 그림은 선과 선을 이어 면을 만들고, 그 면 위에 또 다른 생각이 맞닿아 새로운 가치를 만들어낸다.
함께 어우러져 더 견고해지는 아름다움을 꿈꾸며, 나는 늘 미완성의 그림을 그린다.

“선(線)으로 만든 도화지...그 위에 채워지는 면(面).
그리고 비로소 그림이 완성 된다.“
